More than 140 exhibitors at the event dedicated to wine and olive growing
The Torrevento company in Corato (Bari) is home tomorrow to the 11th edition of “Enovitis in Campo”, organized by Unione Italiana Vini (the Italian Wine Union) and Veronafiere-Fieragricola. Two days of events, conventions, meetings and field tests (tomorrow 09.00-18.00 and Saturday 09.00-15.00) dedicated in particular to the promotion of wine and olive growing technologies, two field of excellence in Apulia.
There are over 140 exhibitors – an increase of 40% compared to 2015.
The focus events during Enovitis in Campo 2016 especially include precision wine-growing, the keystone for greener and more sustainable agriculture in environmental, social and above all economic terms.
“This is the third edition of Enovitis in Campo organised thanks to partnership between Fieragricola and the Unione Italiana Vini” said the CEO & Director General of Veronafiere, Giovanni Mantovani, “and the second consecutive year it is being held in the south of Italy: last year in Sicily, this year in Apulia – two marvellous showcases of Italian wine that in recent years have developed substantially in terms of quality, thanks to the enthusiasm of producers and market response. Technologies used in growing stages and sustainable good practices in the field are part of the growth plan for wine-growing in the south of Italy and follow an ideal approach with Fieragricola in Verona; the last edition in February precisely paid very close attention to sustainability and innovation.”
The two days of the Enovitis in Campo event in Corato will also see awards for companies distinguished in terms of sustainability and safety. Nine awards will be made: two “Technological Innovation Awards” and seven “New Technology Awards” assigned by the event’s Scientific and Technical Committee.
As regards conventions, an important conference is being organized by Anga (Confagricoltura Young Farmers) on “Rural development programme 2014-2020 and Ismea: opportunities for young farmers”, scheduled tomorrow at 16.00 in the conference room of the Torrevento Winery. Speakers include Leonardo Di Gioia (Councillor for Agriculture, Apulia Region), Rocco Caliandro (President of Anga Apulia), Donato Rossi (President of Confagricoltura Apulia), Gianluca Nardone (Director of the Department of Agriculture and Head of the RDP Management Authority in Apulia) and Giuseppe D’Onghia (Director, Department of Agriculture); the debate will be moderated by Gianni Porcelli, technical expert with Confagricoltura Apulia.
